Realising a Bold, Future Focused Vision

Flinders Village is a multi-million dollar transformational development at Flinders University’s Bedford Park campus.  It will be the biggest integrated health and education precinct in South Australia.

Not only a place for high-tech research facilities, Flinders Village will provide an expanded residential offering for students.  The wider community will also share its amenities including to cafes, shops and entertainment.

Government investment in the extension of the Flinders rail line, a crucial transport connection, is the key that has unlocked this potential.  Flinders Village will provide a critical pedestrian connection between the new Flinders Station opened in 2020 and the balance of the Flinders University campus.

The first building in the new Flinders Village will be the Health and Medical Research Building.  The HMRB will house researchers from Flinders University’s College of Medicine and Public Health and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

With sustainability high on the agenda, the design incorporates many smart building features designed to minimise energy and water use and maximise wellbeing.

Great design by Architectus, a great design team and great clients made our work a real pleasure.

As Professor Colin J Stirling, President and Vice-Chancellor of Flinders University has said previously:

“Flinders University was founded upon a bold, future-focused vision.  This plan marks the next momentous step in our journey to become one of the most innovative, creative and vibrant university campuses anywhere in the world”.
