The $498 million, eight-storey building accommodates 64 inpatient beds, an 18 same-day-bed unit, a 16-bed ICU, operating theatres and supporting CT scanner suite. It also has an eye surgery clinic on a dedicated floor.
URPS added value by facilitating several Pre-Lodgement Planning and Design Review meetings to ensure the satisfaction of the State Commission Assessment Panel and the SA Government Architect. The end result is a building that exceeds the height guidelines at a sensitive interface with existing residents, delivering extra floor space that provides greater flexibility for this important medical centre in the future.
