Wallis Entertainment Precinct, Mount Barker

A $46 million tourism and entertainment redevelopment designed to provide high-quality experiences for locals and visitors in the Adelaide Hills.
Wallis Entertainment Precinct Mount Barker

At the heart of the project is a new 5‑storey, 100‑room hotel delivering much‑needed visitor accommodation in the centre of Mount Barker.

The project also includes a substantial extension to the existing cinema complex, with internationally designed indoor recreation facilities, including bowling, laser tag and arcade games.

URPS added value by strategically lodging the redevelopment as two separate development applications. Both applications required careful navigation of planning controls. This was due to the State Heritage listed Auchendarroch House and Gardens, no height provisions in a low-rise context and a holistic car parking strategy balancing shared uses within an established shared parking environment.

URPS also supported the client with a highly successful pre-lodgement community engagement program in a passionate Hills community.
