Water Resources Situational Analysis

BHP have committed to support holistic water management in the catchments where it operates. The WRSA for Olympic Dam identified shared water-related values, shared water challenges and opportunities for collective action in the central and northern Arid Lands of SA.
Water hole in arid outback

URPS led the development of a water resources situational analysis (WRSA) for the Olympic Dam ‘catchment’ for BHP. This included engaging the Goyder Institute to undertake a research report that collated published information on groundwater and surface water resources. URPS then used this research to prepare a concise summary for a public audience that identified water resource management challenges and opportunities.

URPS led engagement on this draft report with stakeholders including local and state government, conservation groups and SA Tourism.

List of tasks
