Walkley’s Road Corridor Concept Plan Development

The Walkley’s Road Corridor will be one of the City of Salisbury’s largest residential developments. Pocketed within an established suburb, there was potential for tension between new and existing residents. Involving the surrounding community in the early design process managed this risk.
Walkleys Road

The URPS team worked seamlessly with the City of Salisbury and broader consultant team to customise information for the community. We worked to understand what their concerns and aspirations are. We pre-empted these with clear and easily understood information.

We also made sure engagement was on site. Creating pop up events in-situ made it easy for the community to participate. This helped us to explain and the community to visualise the future development.

Our team added value by capturing community feedback that directly informed the concept design. This resulted in adjusted layout of future homes and a new district level play space.
