Krivic House

Krivic House is a series of pre-designed modern homes by Architects Ink to be built by Adelaide-based master builder Krivic. Thoughtful design, liveable spaces, affordable architecture.

Project Overview

Architects Ink have worked with Krivic on many award-winning projects over the last 10 years.

This collaboration evolved from the shared ambition to create high quality, architecturally-designed homes with reduced construction costs. In a saturated market of home builders within Adelaide, Krivic House provides a unique opportunity.

This project was particularly challenging due to the complexities of the Character Overlay applicable to the site and locality. Such Overlays seek a repetition or reinforcement of identifiable themes to maintain the recognised character associated with a local area.

The Krivic House provides a juxtaposition to the identifiable character by presenting something completely different to the norm – a contemporary mid-century building, yet one that is sympathetic to typical character bungalows in the area.

1 Bourke Street is a great example of how a design can respond to its context without mimicking or referencing the architectural form, style and detailing that is intrinsic to the character area.
