SAHMRI

Located alongside the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, this state-of-the-art $200 million facility accommodates approximately 700 researchers.  It features 10 floors – seven above ground and three below.

Radially arranged “flower” columns on the ground floor reduce the need for structural support from 36 columns to 6, creating the distinctive open feel of the interior. The building’s 6,290 triangular glass windows took five months to fabricate.

URPS added value by facilitating the State Coordinator General call-in of the development proposal.
