Developing a Biodiversity Strategic Management Plan was essential for Council to ensure the protection, enhancement, and restoration of these natural landscapes for future generations.

URPS added value to this plan by:

  • Using GIS mapping to distinguish high-value biodiversity areas from general open space, providing clear guidance on where to prioritise protection and restoration efforts.
  • Applying a program logic approach to set measurable targets, indicators and outcomes, supporting effective monitoring and accountability.
  • Engaging with the community and stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration and ensure local input shaped the plan’s actions.
