The Jeffrey Smart Building

Home of the University’s main library and a host of student services, wrapping around a central courtyard with an open-air cinema and green public area. With 600 student computers, the facility features ‘smart’ teaching rooms designed for online collaboration and collaborative learning.

URPS added value by convincing the Council of the activation of street frontage while drawing people into the centre of the site, and also managing issues such aircraft flightpath impact and pedestrian shelter.
