Woodville Medical Centre

Woodville

The SMFA designed and purpose-built medical centre features retail tenancies at ground level, 46 specialist consulting rooms across 4 levels, a basement car park and communal balcony. It’s striking design adopts passive design principles through the use of purposely angled facade glazing.

URPS added value by convincing council that a 9m increase in height above the 12m guideline was appropriate because of existing nearby development.  This meant two extra levels/1500m2 of floorspace. We were also able to convince the Council planners and Assessment Panel that some protected trees could be removed given the substantial landscaping proposed, including a green roof.
