River Murray Flood Resilience

Quality engagement helps resilient communities build back.
River Murray

Planners are often accused of adding red-tape. This is why we enjoyed being part of a Code Amendment that does the opposite – making life easier for flood affected property owners.

URPS helped Planning & Land Use Services with a series of community drop-in sessions in Morgan and Mannum following the significant floods in 2023.  We worked directly with flood affected community to understand how these changes help them. These sessions were attended by more than 50 members of the community.

URPS added value by taking the mystery, misunderstanding and jargon out of planning. We worked with community to make sure they understood what the planning system can do for them and on their terms. The River Murray Flood Resilience Code Amendment is making things simpler for people needing to rebuild following flood impact.
