Port Lincoln Housing Strategy

A case study of how to prepare strategies that don’t sit on the shelf.
Port Lincoln esplanade

Australia is battling a housing availability and affordability crisis; an issue exacerbated in regional areas. This is particularly concerning in areas such as the Eyre Peninsula which is earmarked to support growth of State and National significance.

Increasing housing supply will benefit the City of Port Lincoln both socially and economically. Through this strategy Council will proactively facilitate an environment which is conducive to increasing housing supply.

URPS added value by preparing a strategy that defined roadblocks and identified actions where Council’s resources and time should be channelled to create an environment that facilitates appropriate residential development. We developed strategies and actions that were realistic and will help unlock opportunities.
