This 23-hectare site in Hillier just west of Gawler is an ideal site for affordable housing for people over 50. It is located adjacent to the Gawler River, as well as an existing residential village and spiritual centre.
URPS conducted multiple community meetings including a forum with the local MP and residents. We met with existing village residents, addressing their questions and providing reassurance about the proposed rezoning. Our engagement process garnered the opinion of over 300 people.
In the end, community views were heard relating to stormwater runoff, footpaths and protection of trees and open space. This resulted in a win win for the site.
