Alison is an accomplished urban planner and key member of our Health, Education & Community Team.
She has vast experience facilitating approvals for student accommodation and schools. This includes almost 1000 beds for students within a mixed-use development and significant expansion of heritage listed schools where successful integration of old and new was critical.
Alison knows how to manage the opposition to this type of development that often comes from neighbours. She is meticulous, but not at the expense of delivery, staying focused on making the planning approval process as smooth as possible.
As a member of Turley’s Scotland team for more than 10 years, Alison built a reputation for facilitating high-profile and often contentious major developments. These included the $500 million waterfront Ocean Terminal featuring residential, retail and commercial spaces, as well as the 350-dwelling mixed-use redevelopment in the heart of Edinburgh known as New Town Quarter.
Alison’s international experience means that she brings a different perspective to URPS’ projects. Finding new ways to quickly address challenges as they arise and clear any blockages to approval.
