Anita Allen

Anita helped shape the South Australian planning system as it is today and is widely regarded as one of the State’s best strategic planners.

In her previous role as Director of Planning in the State Government, Anita played a central role introducing the Planning & Design Code and many other planning instruments.  This demonstrated her technical, stakeholder management, community engagement, governance and change management skills.

In addition to leading key parts of the planning reform program, Anita has held a range of senior management roles within the South Australian public sector.
She led the State Government’s Case Management Service for significant development applications in the CBD and inner metropolitan area.
She was also responsible for the delivery of the State’s rezoning program.

This wide-ranging experience has given Anita valuable insight into how to position new projects/ideas to different stakeholders.  This sees her leading various private sector and key Government rezoning and development schemes, helping grow the URPS policy team to be Adelaide’s largest.

Versatile, experienced and hard-working, combined, Anita is uniquely placed to drive complex planning initiatives and deliver under pressure.
