URPS delivered a comprehensive needs assessment of aged care provision across the Eyre Peninsula. We analysed a range of data sources to confirm that the region has a high and rapidly ageing population, with current services insufficient to meet demand.
URPS added value by:
- Establishing current aged care service provision per person on the Eyre Peninsula. This was then compared against recognised benchmarks and population trends to confirm and measure the shortfall in services and accommodation.
- Presenting data in a way that most clearly conveyed this conclusion. This included demonstrating how provision varied across the region.
- Providing a strong evidence base to support advocacy, inform regional planning, and position the Eyre Peninsula to attract future investment in aged care.
