Sam White

Sam is a natural people-person who listens, empathises and connects which he learned from a young age in his family’s hospitality business.

A community engagement specialist in infrastructure and construction, Sam is a great communicator, negotiator and problem solver. He has spent many years in the public sector managing engagement on major road, rail and marine infrastructure projects. His easy-going personality is complemented by meticulous organisation and adaptability.

Sam’s family business was running hotels. His post-graduate degree in Business Marketing helped sharpen his understanding of customers and providing products/services that meet their needs. Sam knows that telling a compelling story about your organisation gives your customers a reason to use you instead of your competitors. He also knows how to build lasting and trusting relationships with people.

Undergraduate qualifications in IT add to Sam’s unique skills in engagement. It means that he thinks differently about collecting and analysing data via different and targeted software. This can save time and money, as well as yielding better understanding of feedback.

In his spare time Sam loves martial arts. He enjoys the discipline and self improvement. Translated to engagement activities, it gives him confidence and a sense of calm when dealing with people.

Whether he is creating copy/promotional materials, facilitating a public meeting or synthesising feedback, Sam thrives on the hum created when people connect.
